About the Institution
SSN College of Engineering (SSNCE), founded by Padma Bhushan Dr. Shiv Nadar, Chairman, HCL Technologies, stands out as a premier center of higher learning with a mission of pursuing excellence in education and research. The institution, with its diverse and dynamic community of students offers a distinctive combination of some of the finest graduate, undergraduate and research programs, accomplished faculty, world class facilities and a residential campus set on a sprawling 250 acres of sylvan surroundings. SSNCE is a home to aesthetically designed buildings with state of the art computer and internet facilities, modern workshops, seminar halls, auditoriums and well stocked libraries, sports and games fields in addition to an indoor stadium with gymnasium. SSN College of Engineering has faculty strength of 260 with a faculty student ratio of 1 faculty for every 15 students. Out of the total, 156 faculties are PhDs and 91 are pursuing their Ph.D. SSNCE has been ranked 5th among all the private engineering colleges in the country and ranked 27th among all the engineering colleges and 80th among all the educational institutions in the NIRF 2017 rankings under Engineering, instituted by the MHRD, Government of India.

About the Department
The department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year of 2007-08 with a mission to educate and train students to become globally competent. The department has 34 faculty members, 30 of them having Ph.D. 118 research scholars are pursuing their Ph.D. in the department out of which 26 are full-time scholars. The Department is accredited by NBA and strengthened by its motivated faculty members working on various research projects funded by Naval Research Board (NRB), Department of Science and Technology (DST), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the SSN Trust to the tune of more than 2.5 Crores. The major research areas are: Friction Stir Welding, Metal Cutting, Composites, FEA, CFD, Vibration Analysis, Nano Technology, Robotics, Heat Transfer, Alternate fuels, Thermal energy storage and Vapour absorption refrigeration systems.

About the Conference
The two-day Second International Conference on “Sustainable Energy Resources, Materials and Technologies” (ISERMAT 2019) is organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, SSN College of Engineering (Autonomous), Kalavakkam, Chennai. The objective of the conference is to promote the exchange of ideas and knowledge on the methods and technologies for increasing the sustained growth of energy, transport, water and environment systems. The conference aims to attract scientists, professional engineers, faculty members, research scholars and engineering students from all over India/abroad and give them the opportunity to present and publish their work, discuss, exchange ideas and knowledge as well as network for future collaborations. The conference includes keynote lectures and oral presentations on different topics. We are looking forward to organizing an exciting and memorable conference with valuable technical programs.
